TropiClean Clean Teeth Gel product review

I contacted TropiClean to see if we could check out one of their oral care items, and they kindly sent us over a package of their Clean Teeth Gel to product review! Years ago we had adopted an elderly abused beagle, and she had to get something like 13 teeth removed right away. Then before we moved to our second house, she had to get about 9 more out. It was insane, but it thankfully didn’t stop her from chewing bones! That being said, I know dental health is important and that if you don’t take care of your pets’ teeth that it can lead to problems elsewhere in their body later on. TropiClean even provides some information from The American Veterinary Dental Society. They report that 80% of dogs and 70% of cats show signs of periodontal (gum) disease by age three. They go on to say that periodontal disease is the number one disease among dogs and cats! So if you are not part of the 10% that are already doing something for their pets’ oral health, now is the time. Some encouraging news is that there are new products and techniques that make it easier and more effective than ever to address your pets’ dental care. Just imagine if you only brushed your teeth twice a year when you visited your dentist. Plaque, the leading cause of periodontal disease, can begin to develop on pets’ teeth as quickly as 12 hours after a dental cleaning. Brushing your pets’ teeth can still be an effective method in a daily oral health routine. Thankfully there are also new products that make home care so much easier! And TropiClean definitely has some for you!

Included in the package:
- 1 package of TropiClean Clean Teeth Gel

Here is some information about the TropiClean Clean Teeth Gel from its website:

Removes plaque & tartar
Works fast and naturally to help reduce plaque and tartar on dogs and cats — no toothbrush required. A proprietary blend of natural, holistic ingredients produce a healthy oral environment. Kills the germs that cause bad breath, plaque, and gingivitis. Soothes minor gum irritations. For clean teeth and ‘up close’ fresh breath everyday!

Available Sizes
4oz

Directions
Apply 2 drops of gel to each side of the pet’s mouth. Apply directly to the teeth with plaque buildup. Use once daily. You’ll soon notice your pet licking their lips repeatedly. This is normal and helps the gel to mix with saliva and coat all surfaces of your pet’s teeth and gums. For maximum effect, withhold food and water for 30 minutes before and after treatment. Tooth brushing is not necessary but will speed up the removal of softened plaque and tartar. Ordinarily, after 30 days, application can be reduced to twice weekly for regular maintenance.

Here are two photos and a video of us using the TropiClean Clean Teeth Gel on Pacey:

The verdict? We chose Pacey to be our guinea pig for this product review for TropiClean because he has really bad kitty breath. FYI – we have his teeth checked often by our mobile vet, so we know there’s nothing terribly funky or alarming going on in there. Also, we already use a water additive that’s supposed to help with daily oral hygiene care, but it’s obvious we needed to look into something more where he’s concerned. Once I read what the TropiClean Clean Teeth Gel is supposed to do and saw how easy it is to do, I thought it would be great to try for our little man! And I’m happy to report that his breath is improving already, even after just a few days! If you purchase this product, please let me know what you think!

(Full disclosure – TropiClean provided this item to us free of charge in exchange for a product review. Thanks!)
