I’ve been lucky enough to do several product reviews in the past for Petmate, and I’m excited that I get to share another of their products with you that’s so new that it’s not even on their website just yet! It’s a self-warming bed by one of their brands, Aspen Pet. It features the same heat-reflecting technology used in Mylar “space blankets,” helps warm pets without electricity, and is made from faux lambswool plush & wide wale corduroy in a burnt orange color. So there are no cords, no outlets needed, and it simply reflects a pet’s own body heat right on back to the pet! Also handy is that it can go into the washer & dryer as one piece, and that makes it super easy to clean. This pet bed comes in four different sizes, so you’ll definitely find one to fit your pet. Personally, I think it should be marketed towards senior pets or other pets that may have joint problems or issues that warmth may help, as my older furbabies with those needs are repeat users of this bed. Keep an eye out for it!

The verdict? It’s definitely a great pet bed, especially for our older furbabies. It’s always in use, so it must feel good for them! It gets wonderfully warm, thus it’s perfect for warming up a cold pet, relaxing older pet muscles, or warming up older pet bones. I like it a lot for my Spenser and Pacey, especially, due to their ages. In fact, Spenser has hip & joint issues and currently gets acupuncture for them, so I can only imagine how good the warmth feels for him. Pacey is getting up there in years, so his repeated use of it leads me to believe he appreciates it in his own right. For me, I love that I can move it around the house easily and not have to worry about dealing with a plug due to my own back pain issues. FYI – right now it only comes in the burnt orange color, but it’s such a pretty color, so don’t let that fact deter you from checking it out for your own pets. Also, Petmate sells lots of other great products for dogs, cats, and birds, like kennels, toys, treats, collars, and feeders, just to name a few. If you purchase any of their products, please let me know what you think!

(Full disclosure – Petmate provided this item to us free of charge in exchange for a product review. Thanks!)
