Classy Cat Dishes are so elegant & stylish, and I’ve thought so ever since I stumbled upon them. As always, I’m very honored when I get items to review, and they sent my furbabies one of each style to check out! Ohh-la-la! These dishes are raised which means that cats and the majority of smaller dogs no longer have to stoop or crouch down to floor level in awkward and often painful positions to eat their meals. They can now sit or stand in comfort using these uniquely styled one piece elevated dishes.
They are available in 2 different styles, with 6 popular colors to choose from, like Cobalt Blue, Gossamer Pink, Eggshell White, Teal Green, Solid Glossy Caviar Black, and Frost Grey. I selected white because I thought that color would best match the room they eat in. Both styles are attached to 4″ high pedestals and are either 5 1/4″ or 5 1/2″ tall from floor to rim. This overall height has proved to be the most comfortable for virtually all cats and smaller dogs. The 5″ diameter dish was designed specifically for dry food or water. Deeper and not as wide, it keeps the dry food better contained and less exposed to air. As a water bowl, it keeps the water cleaner by being elevated and better tasting by being contained in ceramic. The turned-in rim helps keep water from spilling. The 6″ diameter dish was created specifically for wet or fresh food. Wide and shallow, it will not irritate sensitive whiskers, and the food is easily accessible. The turned-in rim helps keep the food from being pushed over the sides.

Here is some information about the features & benefits of the Classy Cat Dishes from its website:
The heavy durable construction makes these one piece raised dishes very stable. The pedestal weighs more than the dish; therefore, they will not tip or slide with normal use.
Made of stoneware, Classy Cat Dishes are dishwasher and microwave safe. They will not absorb food odors or harbor bacteria like plastic does, and this helps to prevent chin acne and mouth ulcers.
This product is absolutely lead free, and the colors are airbrushed on, giving the dishes an attractive dark to light shaded appearance.
The attached pedestals are unique to Classy Cat & Dog products. They raise the food to a comfortable level for pets; it’s especially helpful to the older or arthritic cats and dogs that find it very painful to stoop down to floor level to eat. These dishes are easily resold if you are buying for a senior pet, as you can add them to our Amazon.com listings, using the “Sell Yours” link on them. We recommend you keep the boxes for mailing. The pedestal allows pets to sit or stand closer to their meals. Raised dishes also help prevent vomiting that is often caused by a reflex muscle in the throat that reacts when a pet lifts their head after eating from a level below their stomach. An empty stomach can also cause vomiting because of acid buildup.
Both styles are designed so the sides do not obstruct the pet’s vision or irritate sensitive whiskers while eating.
The scoop-shaped sides and turned-in rims are another feature found only on Classy Cat & Dog products. Both assist in keeping contents contained and make it much easier for pets to pick up their food without pushing it over the sides, especially the older ones with fewer or no teeth to help them.
Easy to pick up and wash, they also take up much less space than wood or metal raised feeders.

The verdict? These Classy Cat Dishes are really nicely designed, and I like how rather elegant and regal my kitties look when eating from them! The features, like how they are wide and shallow to not bother whiskers and how the turned-in rim helps keep the food from being pushed over the sides, are really great. The one about how raised dishes can also help prevent vomiting is of special interest to me because my little Lulu has vomiting issues after eating. She’s been tested for various things, and one of the options suggested to us by our mobile vet was to have her eat off of cookie sheets. While that helped some, it didn’t solve the issue entirely, so I’m excited to see if this does the trick. And these dishes are ridiculously more attractive than cookie sheets, right? So fingers crossed! If you purchase these dishes, please let me know what you think!
(Full disclosure – Classy Cat Dishes provided these items to us free of charge in exchange for a product review. Thanks!)
