Premier Pet Products Product Review

February 27, 2011 | Comments Off

I was eyeing up some toys from Premier Pet Products to get my furbabies for Valentine’s Day and ended up buying Spenser the Kibble Nibble & the kitties a Funkitty Doorway Dangli off of Amazon. I contacted Premier to see if they’d send me a Doorway Dangli for my cats to try out, but I thought they were too big a company and that I’d never hear back from them. To my surprise, they replied back the next day and said not only would they send us a Funkitty Doorway Dangli, but they’d also send a Funkitty Egg-Cersizer too. Needless to say, my babies had a fabulous holiday!

In the package they sent the following:
- Funkitty Doorway Dangli™
- Funkitty Egg-Cersizer™

Here are two photos of the new toys:

The Premier website describes the products:

The Funkitty line of toys is designed to randomly dispense treat or kibble keeping cats of all ages engaged and active. The screw closure on the toys is adjustable to determine how quickly treats are dispensed. They’re irresistible with catnip too!

The Doorway Dangli hangs from doorframes and has various settings that will drop treats depending on the level selected (easy, more challenging). It features a furry white tail that cats will tug on and smack at. So the cat plays with the tail and the treats drop out. Also noteworthy is that this tail has an awesome safety breakaway feature – if the toy is played with too roughly, the whole thing won’t get pulled off the door or end up around kitty’s neck!

The Egg-Cersizer is exactly what its name implies. It’s an egg that exercises your cat. Fill the toy egg with food or treats (I like the idea of making them work for their food), select the setting level (I suggest the easiest setting first so that they get the hang of it and don’t get discouraged), and watch as they smack or nudge it around the house.

I’m constantly looking for toys that will keep my babies active and entertained. Since I have back issues, I can’t get down on the floor with them or swing toys around as easily as I once could. Now I am fueled by intense guilt over this and am constantly scouring the web for toys they will like. From the photos & video, I think you can see that they found these toys amusing. It took some time to teach them how they work and to generate initial interest. But I’m beyond grateful that they now have more things to chase around, smack at, and enjoy!

Also, I just realized that the Bristle Bone that Drs. Foster & Smith asked us to product review is also a Premier Pet Product! How funny! It looks like this company is taking over the pet world with their innovative toys!

(Full disclosure – Premier Pet Products provided these items to us free of charge in exchange for a product review. Thanks guys!)
