relief (sort of)

Today I got official confirmation from social security that a fully favorable decision was issued by the judge at my disability hearing. I’m not sure what I’ll be getting monthly yet, but it shouldn’t be long now before I start getting some dough. Wow! Originally I was going to put some of that towards our remaining credit card bills, but Mark said he’s going to assume that debt if/when we split. I was also going to pay to have the cleaner come extra to do laundry and other things, but I need to save all the money I can in the event of a divorce. The thing that bugged me was that the paperwork also said my condition should improve (say what?) and that my status will be reevaluated in eighteen months. This whole process has been so exhausting, so I was sort of hoping I’d get a longer break before having to continue to prove I’m still disabled and so on. But who knows what could happen. Perhaps something will come down the road that’ll offer me some sort of relief by then.

My mom doesn’t like my new back brace. She said in general that braces make backs/necks/etc… weaker. Ugh. Also, she stated that the garage apartment has heating issues that would be expensive to fix and that it really overall isn’t a place for me to set up any kind of permanency in. It was fine for my brother for years, though, but whatever. Even he said that when my dad did welding or whatever below in the garage that stuff from his jobs would filter on up to the apartment.

I’m still dying from pain today. A friend told me that Mark & I need to go to Paris for a four-day weekend to reconnect (like that would really solve anything). Uhh, I can’t even go to a specialist and a music store without paying the price for it for days on end. Some just don’t get it.
